One of our new Housing First Supportive housing buildings is named Samuel Place. Samuel was John Howard’s best friend and supported him throughout his life. Located at 280 McIntosh Road in Kelowna, Samuel Place consists of 50 units and opened in March 2020.
Samuel Place is a Housing First Supportive housing project that supports individuals with diverse needs, including homelessness, mental health concerns, and substance misuse. The Housing First model offers permanent, affordable housing to the most vulnerable while providing appropriate embedded supports.
We will offer individuals support in their wellness journey in the following ways:
- Life skills coaching
- Wellness planning
- Being part of a community and involvement in the greater community
- Employment education
- Peer support
- Volunteer involvement
- Community gardens
- Harm reduction
- Advocacy
- Healthy meals
- Harm reduction based
All participants will agree to our good neighbour commitment and sign a program agreement.
Samuel Place is funded and works in partnership with BC Housing. It is part of the province-wide Rapid Response to Homelessness. For eligibility and referrals: Individuals must be homeless or at-risk of homelessness. They must fill out the Supportive Housing Registry form for BC Housing, and fax or email the form to:
