APT is a community-based employment program that provides training and support to individuals with multiple barriers helping them find and maintain meaningful employment. The barriers they may be facing include:

  1. Physical barriers such as mobility limitations and adaptations, vision or hearing impairments.
  2. Mental Health  that impact employment.
  3. Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, Learning diversities, etc.)
  4. Substance Use Recovery
  5. Housing Stability
  6. Legal System Involvement.

The goals of our APT (A Person-centered and Tailored skills to work program) are to:
  • Support people facing multiple barriers to employment to acquire the skills and opportunity to gain employment
  • Provide support which assists people to secure and maintain sustainable employment
  • Provide employability and life-skills workshops, safety certificate and skills enhancement training, and supported work experience
Admission criteria:
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Live in British Columbia, and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Be unemployed, underemployed, or employed in a low skilled occupation
  • Not participating in another government-funded labour market program, and not a full-time student
  • Additional eligibility requirements may apply
