Our community living services support adults with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders that are eligible for Community Living BC (CLBC) supports, who may also benefit from assistance in building connections to their community and accessing important services and supports to achieve greater independence.

People are more included and have a better quality of life when they have a strong network of support, such as positive relationships with family and friends, a supportive employer, and enjoyable group and social relations. Through a variety of community inclusion, employment, and residential support programs, we work to ensure that people with developmental disabilities are respected and included in communities as full citizens.

For more details about CLBC, or to assess if you or somebody you care for is eligible for CLBC supports, please refer to their website.

Our Community Living Services

Outreach & Community Inclusion

Our Community Living outreach services are inclusive and person-centred at their core. When someone begins receiving JHS outreach supports, our outreach team works collaboratively with them to assess their self-identified needs, goals, and interests. We then assist them to reach those goals by connecting them to services, supports, and activities, in addition to supporting them in developing their life-skills so that they can achieve greater independence and actively engage in their community.

Outreach & Community Inclusion programs are available in
Residential

Our Community Living residential services include a range of housing options where individuals may live independently in the community with support throughout the week, in a shared living arrangement, or in a home that is shared with others with support throughout the day and night for activities of daily living. In all of our Community Living residential options, support is person-centred and based on individual goals and needs.

Residential programs are available in
Home Share

Our Home Share program is a flexible residential option where an adult eligible for CLBC services shares a home with someone contracted to provide them with ongoing support. This may look different for each individual, based on their own preferences, goals, and needs. Sometimes shared living can be with one person, other times an individual may live with a couple or family.
